MacShift: While looking for a free, scriptable MAC address utility for Windows XP, all I could find were the a-Mac address changer and SMAC, both GUI programs, and both not free. Both very much not what I was looking for.

So, armed with my severe disappointment, I set out to create a utility that would meet my stringent MAC address-changing needs. Specifically, I wanted to be able to make a set of shortcuts in a toolbar, where each one would give me a different MAC address quickly and instantly.

Technitium MAC Address Changer: Technitium MAC Address Changer allows you to change Media Access Control (MAC) Address of your Network Interface Card (NIC) irrespective to your NIC manufacturer or its driver. It has a very simple user interface and provides ample of information regarding each NIC in the machine. Every NIC has an MAC address hard coded in its circuit by its manufacturer. This hard coded MAC address is used by windows drivers to access Ethernet Networks (LAN). This tool can set a new MAC address to your NIC, bypassing the original hard coded MAC address. CPU-Z is a freeware utility that provides some information on your CPU:

• Processor name and vendor
• Core stepping and process
• Processor package
• Processor current core voltage
• Internal and external clocks, clock multiplier
• Partial overclock detection
• Processor features, including supported instructions sets.
• L1 and L2 cache informations : location, size, speed, technology.
• Motherboard informations : BIOS, chipset, memory, AGP.

Les clients BitTorrent intègrent de plus en plus de fonctions. C'est la fonction fil RSS qui permet à Azureus ou uTorrent de récupérer automatiquement vos séries/émissions favorites. Je préfère uTorrent à Azureus pour sa légèreté. Azureus a toutefois un avantage majeur, il est multiplateforme. uTorrent peut toutefois être utilisé sous Linux au travers de Wine.

Installation de uTorrent:

• Télécharger la dernière version de uTorrent. A ce jour c'est la beta 1.7.2585.
• Télécharger le pack de langue pour utiliser uTorrent en français.
• uTorrent est autonome, il suffit de déplacer le programme et le fichier de langue dans un même répertoire pour pouvoir l'utiliser. rem: à la première exécution, le fichier de langue est déplacé dans le répertoire de paramétrage. Il est donc normal qu'il disparaisse.

Paramétrage de uTorrent:

• Préférences - Général: cliquer sur "Associer les .torrent à uTorrent" pour que les fichiers BitTorrent soient ouverts par uTorrent.
  
• Préférences - Téléchargements: sélectionner le répertoire où les fichiers seront téléchargés. Puis sélectionner le répertoire où seront déplacés les fichiers terminés.
  
• Préférences - Connexion: cliquer sur "Port aléatoire" pour que le port de communication de uTorrent soit pris au hasard. NB: il faudra ouvrir se port au niveau de votre firewall/router le cas écheant. Puis désactiver les options du port d'écoute conformément à la capture d'écran. Régler le taux max en emission en fonction de votre connexion ADSL. Je suis en mesure d'envoyer à 100ko/s, je règle donc mon max à 80ko/s pour pouvoir continuer à utiliser mon accès internet.
  
• Préférences - File d'attente: paramétrer conformément à la capture d'écran pour partager jusqu'à 200% puis arréter le partage.
  
• Préférences - Avancées: vérifier que l'option "ipfilter.enable" a bien la valeur true.
  

Activation des fils RSS:

• Gestionaire RSS - Flux: ajouter le flux RSS EZTV pour avoir accès aux derniers épisodes TV. Son adresse est "http://tvrss.net/feed/eztv/".
  
• Gestionaire RSS - Favoris: pour chaque série ou émission ajouter un filtre. Le filtre suivant permet de récupérer les "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" automatiquement. Le filtre sauf "*ac3*|*hr*|*H*264*|*x*264*|*720*" permet de ne pas télécharger les versions HD qui prennent énormément de place.
